Donald Ross

Donald Ross a first-class passenger on the Valencia headed to Victoria. The San Francisco Examiner reported on January 26th, 1906:

"Of the Victoria dead by the Valencia disaster one of the best known in Donald Ross of Cove Road, who has for years been very prominent in labor circles. He was connected with the British Columbia pottery works and was regarded as one of its most trusted employees. It is a curious coincidence that scarce three years ago his wife was drowned almost within sight of home while voyaging on the Clallam from Puget Sound. His children are being tenderly cared for and comforted in their new and terrible grief."

Donald Ross was 24 years old, from Scotland and just two years ago moved to Canada. He worked as a stonecutter and was on his way to Victoria to work on a hotel. His body was never recovered.
